Kate's Cure Crew is a network of caring people who help raise funds to find the cause of and the cure for
an aggressive, deadly,
horrific form of pediatric cancer called neuroblastoma. We need your help.
Take a moment to learn more about this kind of cancer by exploring some of the
links below. Neuroblastoma affects about 1 in every 100,000 kids.
Although the community at large considers this "rare", it's all too
common to the approximately 650 families it affects in the United States each
year. Almost no money is available for researchers to find the cause,
improve the toxic treatments that are currently in use or find a cure.
Kate's Cure Crew banded together during the summer of 2007 to help inspire
the family of a brave one-year old named Kate
Jacobs who is a neuroblastoma warrior and survivor. She is now
successfully off-treatment and resuming a normal life while we remain determined
to help fund better treatments and ultimately, a cure.
There are many easy ways you can help:
- Join
Kate's Cure Crew! We are not a charity, so joining our
crew is not tax-deductible. However, for a nominal shipping charge we
will send you a Kate's
Cure Crew wristband and 100% of your contribution will go to finding the cause
of and the cure for Neuroblastoma! All money raised goes to fund
research.
- If you prefer a tax-deductible form of support, give up just one meal and
donate the cost of that meal to Neuroblastoma research through Lunch
for Life. Multiply the power of this act by telling five or more
friends to do it with you. You could also give up one meal each month
to help! You can honor Kate by adding an ornament to her "giving tree"
if you wish.
- Write
to your federal representatives in the Senate and Congress to ask their
support for the Conquer Childhood Cancer Act of 2007. It's fast and
easy. We need to send this message loud and clear because previous
efforts like this have failed and government funding for cancer research is
being slashed year after year.

to benefit the Children's Neuroblastoma Cancer Foundation! Sign up and

- Buy a new T-shirt, mug or other item at the Band
of Parents store. All proceeds help fund new treatments for
neuroblastoma!!

fundraising events. Our garage
sale in August 2007 raised more than $9,000 for the Children's
Neuroblastoma Cancer Foundation!!
